Outside of India, Vindaloo (more authentically known as Vindalho) is extremely misunderstood. It has been made popular in the UK by curry houses which serve a blisteringly spicy curry with no resemblance to the real Goan dish. Originally known as “carne de vinha d’alhos”, meaning meat cooked in wine and garlic, Vindalho travelled from Portugal to Goa in the 16th century and the wine was replaced with Goan vinegar.
Our Vindaloo Spice Mix is fiery but not too hot. Pungent with Kashmiri chillies and warming spices like pepper, cinnamon and cloves make this is the perfect blend to make a deeply flavoured, rich meaty curry or as a marinade for a chicken or even vegetables. There are no rules; experiment and find your favourite way to use our Vindaloo Spice Mix in your cooking!
All of our spice blends are made with 100% natural ingredients and use the finest spices available. They are all carefully handmade in small batches by our founder, Emma.
